Referee Notes Entry 3

I've posted a new page which contains information for the player characters about the Republic of Krax.   The first entry on that page is an ID chart for the flags and banners of the 3 Fists Triumvirate.  The ROK will be a major antagonist force in the 3 Fists Triumvirate Campaign.

The Republic of Krax (ROK) is the name of the star systems aligned with the 3 Fists Triumvirate.  The Kraxin Civil War was fought between the Krax Confederation and the ROK. This civil war ended with the defeat and destruction of the Krax Confederation by the ROK.

The use of the formal name, "Republic of Krax," is slowly being phased out. The 3 Fists Triumvirate or "3FT" designation is the preferred term for the ruling government by its leaders and party members.

The Last Game Session (circa 1991)

The original campaign came to an end in a single session after about a 7 year hiatus.  What was supposed to be an introductory encounter to get the players' feet wet, turned into a bloodbath.  The old style of "fast and loose" play continued with a reckless decision by the characters.
A simple encounter with an agent of the Imperial Naval Intelligence Service (INI) turned disastrous.  The characters encountered the agent at a shopping mall located in a starport compound (Junidy/Aramis [0802]).  What the player characters didn't know was the agent was unaware of their identities.  Instead of letting the encounter take its course through conversation (the agent was not hostile to the group), the group opened fire on him without saying a word.  The gunfire drew the attention of starport security forces and a huge gun battle ensued.   If memory serves me correctly, the players were rolling horribly and I (the referee) was rolling well. Needless to say that some of them were killed and the others captured.  The sad thing was that the main scenario of this campaign session never got played.

The reboot of the 3 Fists Triumvirate Campaign will alter this event dramatically, with the player characters surviving and escaping the arresting authorities.

For the Nostalgia

I decided to reboot this old Classic Traveller campaign purely for the nostalgia!

I have very fond memories of playing Traveller back in the early 1980s.  The campaign was played "fast and loose" with a referee just out of high school and a few other younger classmates and a fellow graduate.   I want to thank Mike and Ralph Godsy, Jim Garrison, Mike Woodward, and Gregg Schmidt for the great memories!  The 3 Fists Triumvirate Campaign is dedicated to all of you!

Basic Overview

This Classic Traveller Campaign is based on one I refereed in 1982 - 1984; 1991.

• The original campaign took place in the Spinward Marches.  
• It's twenty-five years later, and the new campaign will take place in the Glimmerdrift Reaches Sector (Judges Guild).  
• The original protagonists (characters) are now the antagonists (NPCs) who rule the former Krax Confederation with iron fists (The 3 Fists Triumvirate)
